I’m going to talk about people that are worth having a spot in our lives. In this context, I’m excluding family, which means I’m focusing on people we are not related to.
At various stages of life, we meet different people. It might be people from high school, university, work, etc. Some of them we don’t remember, some become off and on friends, some are besties for life while some are simply there for when you need them.
Regardless of what categories they are and the memories you have shared with them, do hold onto good old friends. They are not easy to come by. It is very important that whatever you do, you do not forget people who stood by you through thick and thin.
However, there are times when people fail you and you simply part ways with them, knowing is for the best. It is normal in life. Just like the weather changes, times and things change, so do people. If the change is something you can’t deal with, let them go. Do not be in a toxic relationship with anyone. If they once made you happy and currently causes you nightmares, let them go.
I had a disturbing conversation with a friend last week and it worried me the number of things people have to deal with to be friends with someone. Of what use is a friendship if it brings no meaning to your life?
My friend kept saying she believed in “for old time sake “. That’s why she couldn’t notice a change in the attitude of a person that almost ruined her life. Although I know about “for old time sake” in friendship and tend to adhere it but not when one is being mean to me.
I’m asking you now, what does for old thing sake in friendship mean to you? I await your response.
In my opinion, value those who value you and encourage those who look up to you. I hope you have enjoyed reading this post.
