I was studying in a restaurant a lady when a lady whose English was not so fluent approached me. She admired the way I was typing on my laptop and told me how she is struggling to learn English in the UK.
She told me how she has been taking English classes and in search of a voluntary job to boost her English. She had studied Sociology in her country.
I asked her to read English papers and listen to English news as I know those will definitely help her. She reluctantly said that at home they watch TV all the time in her native language. I wasn’t surprised to hear that knowing it’s a norm for certain nationalities.
How are you gonna learn like that? I asked. Anyway as I didn’t know the situation surrounding her living or accommodation, I let that be.
Then read papers and take your studies seriously, I added. She seemed very focused to me and I admired that. I commended her English too. Obviously she is learning but she is able to convey any information across which is the main thing.
I had to excuse myself and focus on my work as time wasn’t on my side. In case you have wondered why I was studying in an eatery. Well, it was a Saturday, I left the library (following it’s early closing time) and headed to the restaurant (which was open till 11pm) to complete a project in order to beat a deadline. So, I simply placed an order and chilled on my pc all through. That has been my situation lately though. If you find time please send it to me😄
I suppose to each their own…
Dear reader, I sincerely hope you find the motivation and strength to see you through in any challenge(s) you are currently facing, regardless of its magnitude. Do remember that the end justifies the means.
